Result Oriented or Process Oriented? - A Guide to build "Inner Strength"

Not sure where your strength lies?

Low on confidence?

No time to give your best?

Are situations not favoring you?

Is Something pulling you down?

If one of these is your concern then It's time to know your Inner strength, And the approach needed to Build it and Become stronger to Achieve what you wish for

The ability to understand a subject makes a person stronger in that subject similarly the ability to code better make a person stronger in coding. We all have many strong skills in life but overalll we may lack the strength to manage life itself.

Let's first understand how we get specialized/stronger in any skill.

We had to learn, practice, become comfortable and be confident on the process of doing it.

But what was your mindset to do these things?

  • To Learn - You needed to have an open mindedness to learn.

  • To Practice - You should have the discipline to implement what you learnt.

  • To Become Comfortable - You had to become fearless in repeating the method again.

  • To Be Confident - You had learnt to believe in yourself for mastering the skill.

There is one thing which is in common in all skills. - your Mindset. For stronger skill - All you had built was a positive mindset

Now what are the factors that affect our positive mindset?

  • We often tend to loose focus on the present situation and be in past or future.

  • We often miss the deadline thinking about things which wouldn't help at all.

  • We often procrastinate and not give importance to the work which need to be completed if there is a slightly longer deadline.

  • We even start fearing we might fail and get ourselves drenched in negativity

How do we rectify it?

We simply need to change our mindset from: "Result Oriented Approach" to "Process Oriented Approach"

Result Oriented Approach - This Approach is a way of working with a target result in mind. Thinking always about the Result will bring upon uncertainty in your thinking. Which in turn makes us either being anxious or becoming over excited. We often tend to fear and think about deadlines instead of actual working and even a slight problem/hiccup in any activity may hinder the thought of reaching success and cause disappointment

Basically, Our subconscious thoughts wont remain in the work we do but wander around the future.

Process Oriented Approach - This Approach is a way of working with concentration on what process needs to be followed at that time. You don't fear of the uncertain but concentrate on what has to be done "Now". You always think about the present and you solve your process with all the problems and struggles involved "One at a time".

Just like driving in darkness and depending on the 10 metre visible head light present but able to travel hundreds of kilometres. We take in 10 metres at a moment and not think beyond that.

So what do we need to do to build our inner strength?

Shifting our mindset to Process oriented to keep your mind away from fear

Solve one problem at a time

Always remain open to learning even in slight hiccups.

Always Examine if our mindset has been distracted to an result oriented mindset

Stronger the mindset, Stronger the person.
